OUR MISSION
NOCFD is dedicated to mobilizing local residents in Imperial, California to take action against unfair Community Facilities District (Mello-Roos) taxes. We aim to raise awareness and collect signatures for petitions advocating for the repeal or reduction of these assessments, promoting fairness in taxation.
WHERE THINGS STAND: In Mayfield (CFD 2004-2), more than 27% of registered voters and 53% of landowners signed the petition, and the City Council certified it and ordered it onto the November 3, 2026 ballot — but the County Registrar of Voters has since ruled she cannot administer the district-only election as the City set it up, so the measure will not appear on the ballot as things stand. In Bratton (CFD 2004-3), the City has paid the delinquent original developers' successors over $790,000 since 2018 while pursuing the current owner for that same debt. Near Cross Elementary School, we are fighting to reduce taxes for homeowners and increase assessments on the developer.
